carlet is a fork. it is also a fork, the kind that runs when two versions of the truth compete and one of them has to win. it is a single agent on one solana token, and instead of running one strategy and hoping it holds, it runs several at once and lets them compete.

each version is a tine, a full configuration: a transfer-fee schedule, a split for how those fees move across carlet's reserves, and the thresholds that govern when it acts. a turn is the window each tine is tested over. every tine runs against the same live chain, and carlet asks of each how that version would have carried the token through the turn that just happened. the answer is the tine's measure, a score drawn from real outcomes, not a forecast.

at the close of a turn, carlet forks. the highest measure is kept, every other tine is cut, and there is no override. the kept tine governs the token through token-2022: its fee schedule is the fee the token charges, its split is where that fee lands. when carlet changes its mind, the token changes with it.

the cut tines are filed as cuttings, each with its measure and the gap to the tine that beat it, because a record that only shows winners cannot be checked. the line is the path of kept tines in order. the tree is everything, kept and cut, the line running up its center as the spine. every number on every record is real or a single dash. nothing here is decoration.
